Fellas... STOP writing about BOOBIES 😳 | r/MenWritingWomen

What's up my Beardos and Weirdos!
Today we're diving into r/MenWritingWomen! It's like a mix of r/AreTheStriaghtsOK (no, ahahha) and a few other subreddits. This one is full of good laughs, as some people are just downright clueless... Sometimes, though, I really honestly wonder how these words were entered into print in the first place. It's a bit crazy.
I hope you like it! It's very silly. Much love!

    Christian GoetteChristian Goette10 päivää sitten
  • Maybe she got her ears pierced when she was still on Krypton? She was like 12 or something, when she came to Earth and there's people who get their newborn's ears pierced, so that could also be an explanation.

  • Superman buff here! Proximity to Kryptonite makes Kryptonians vulnerable, and lead is the catch-all metal that sometimes subverts their normal abilities (ex., x-ray vision can’t penetrate lead). So I guess Supergirl could grab some Kryptonite and pierce her ears with lead studs and *maybe* she’d successfully wind up with pierced ears. It’s still a plot hole, though, because she has pierced ears in the show long before her first encounter with Kryptonite on Earth.

  • I took the rant from 6:39 and enhanced it by making it gender-neutral and making some changes to enhance readability. Enjoy the anti-college rant! College: where people are brainwashed by liberal ideologies, so as to make them waste their fertile years and the best time for them to have babies and start a family. Where people get tons of debt for overwhelmingly worthless and useless degrees, accumulate high body counts, and get diseases. College ruins good people. People should go from their parental home, to their marital home. That's the meaning of the parent handing their child off to the spouse. Straight from parent to spouse. Never without a person to guide and protect them. This in between nonsense with college is, by design, bad for people. That dog shouldn't be proud, but rather concerned.

And some are just sweat of bigot that does not even know what he is talking about. Like not knowing what dr means, and that even not all medical doctors deliver a child. So oncologist is not a MD in his eyes? What the hell. But- I will stand in defense of the boobies bible, that one at least did not result in horrible acts, and boobies are fun.

  • 12:30 "Another tradition is to consider ships as female, referring to them as 'she'. ... Although it may sound strange referring to an inanimate object as 'she', this tradition relates to the idea of a female figure such as a mother or goddess guiding and protecting a ship and crew." That is what I found off google.. Google is better than whoever wrote that absolute shit.

  • Actually, the reason why cars/ships/vessels are referred to as “she” has to do with thrones and royalty back in pre-Christian times. The earth was revered as a feminine divine being and the one who ruled over it sat in a throne which was originally designed to be the lap of the Divine Feminine as they were chosen by the Divine to rule. This carried over to ships and vessels for their womb like qualities.

  • telling a woman who has had kids that she does not deserve her title unless she has "delivered" a baby, man where the fuck do you think kids come from? either way still silly to single her out, in general, I can see an argument that M.D needs to be separated more. but honestly who with a doctorate is going to actively engage or cause confusion when people are calling for a doctor? like how often does someone go running down the street yelling "doctor, doctor, oh god I need to find a doctor to solve this physics problem it's got me really stumped"

    Michael CicciarellaMichael CicciarellaUukausi sitten
  • Supergirl being able to get her ears pierced is actually reasonable. Bulletproof vests only stop bullets, not piercing weapons. They disperse kinetic energy but they let through piercing weapons. You need a stab proof vest to stop a piercing weapon. The same logic could be applied to Supergirl. Her skin can stop and disperse the kinetic energy of a bullet but not the finer tip of a piercing needle. Her skin also needs to be stab proof to stop a piercing needle.

Well, the thing is when you write a book, you still need to describe people, not as it is done here, but you still have to. ;-) And, OT, why do you say boobies instead of breasts (when breasts is the word used), although I'm fluent in English this is not my native language, but I always thought breasts is the adult word for this part of the body.

  • Terry Pratchett is good, as you go through the discworld books in order of release tho you can see him gaining an understanding of the concept of "women do stuff and you can write that in your story", the later ones are better for well writtwn women, and the earlier ones have much fewer female characters

    LozzatronLozzatronUukausi sitten
  • As a les, the concept of "pendulous" breasts is not at all appealing. And I've never seen boobs that I would compare to pendulums, boobs jiggle a lot more than they swing back and forth, like pendulums are long and narrow, not words I'd use to describe boobs 👀 Edit: the person saying women are wasting their baby making years at college - female human fertility peaks around the age of 27, even if you are working from that gross point of view, we have time to go to college first

    LozzatronLozzatronUukausi sitten

  • Supergirl's earrings can be explained if she had her ears pierced on Krypton, which has a red sun and so no powers. And since the wounds should have healed before her going to Earth, no, I don't believe that the power of her Kryptonian healing would break the earring posts (if anything, maybe grow around the earrings as they're quite small, but that's just my uninformed assumptions). Also, the green stuff that Superman doesn't like is Kryptonite, a radioactive material from when Krypton was destroyed. If there are wild inaccuracies, please keep in mind that I haven't actually read an Superman or Supergirl comics as I'm more of a Marvel gal and I get a lot of my information from observation.

Thats just cringe, even a 14 year old would think thats cringe because i did when i was one reading somthing similar. It was so cring i couldnt remember the story, because i immediately put it back on the shelf and looked else where for a story. I had to write a book report on a book i read and dont like to re-read for school. I did become a fan of Jim Butcher's works shortly after though.
